Makeshift Home

Life can be tough at times, but nothing this humble home couldn’t handle.

Mang Fred used to be a truck driver, now out of work and without a permanent home, he built a makeshift house along a creek running along a big exclusive subdivision in Pasig City. Small and fragile, Mang Fred and his wife still call it their Home.

Just like any home, they set up their own electricity, put up a mini garden, and created a makeshift bathroom. They even built a porch so they can entertain visitors and friends.

Aside from each other, visitors and friends are what kept them going.

A stark contrast from the exclusive subdivision across the creek, Mang Fred has always dreamed he can afford a nicer house for his wife. But faith hasn’t been so kind. Still, he said he doesn’t envy others and is instead contented. He and his wife works hard to keep ends meet and are hopeful that one day their dream would come true.
