Go get ’em, son!

Lately, my son has shown a lot of interest in my camera – the Fujifilm X-E3. What surprises me the most is that he enjoys using it with a manual focus lens. And just like his dad, he also enjoys taking random photos and making videos too. Now I won’t tell him what to like and what to not, but I’m glad his taking an interest in some of the things that I love. Though I think what’s more important here is that he’s getting curious and trying a lot of different things.

He usually uses a phone to take photos so I was surprised when he said he likes using the manual lens and prefers looking at the viewfinder when using his camera. Yup, he owns the X-E3 now because he said so, so fine whatever. Kidding aside, despite the added complexity of using a manual lens the photos did turn out great! Don’t tell him but I wish I shot some of the photos he took.

If he do decide to pursue photography and wants to learn more about all the technicalities and its rich history, we’ll for sure have a lot to talk about. But for whatever the future holds, I’m beyond happy for him to keep on exploring and finding new things that will pique his interest. You go get ’em, son!
