Finally! I was able to do something I said I would do. I went on my furthest bike ride to date. It took me 4+ hours and 68km (back and forth) under the scorching heat, but it was all worth it. That was more than double the time and distance of my previous ride. So where exactly did I go this time? Tanay, Rizal.

Just like any other ride, this was spontaneous. Woke up a little early one Sunday, and decided to go for a bike ride. Different from my previous trip, my goal here is not to photograph but to best my mileage from my previous ride. But like always, I still brought my trusty Fujifilm x100s. Funny because even with my spontaneity I wasn’t planning to go as far as Tanay. But a little mishap led me there anyway. First, I thought that the Church I initially wanted to go to was in Baras, Rizal (it was in Morong, Rizal), then a wrong turn going to Baras Church got me even further.

The road to Tanay is quite challenging since you have to pass by a few “Ahons” to go there. Although not that steep and long if you are a frequent biker, it can still be challenging once fatigue and the heat gets to you. A lesson learned on my way back. 😆 Still, the scenery along the way was all worth it. I just wish it wasn’t midday already so I could have taken better photos. Shooting in summer in the middle of the day can be challenging when photographing landscapes. As it can cast a lot of unwanted and harsh shadows on your subject/scene.

More biking and more photos.

Now I didn’t exactly stay or was able to roam around Tanay. I just literally touched the border and then went back. Time and energy weren’t on my side the longer I go. But as always, it was one heck of an adventure. Good thing I endured all those miles without being very active for some time. I guess all that stairs on the parking lot did me good after all. With scenes like this and the road being typically safer compared to biking in the city, It’ll be a long time before I stop taking this route. Also, I still have a lot to discover in Rizal and I’ll definitely challenge myself again next time. To Pililla windmill maybe? And oh, another reason I love it here is that the further I go, the cheaper the price of coconut is.

As always, thank you for going with me on my adventures. Don’t forget to follow me on my socials so that you’ll be updated whenever I post something new. Anyway, I’ll leave you here with more photos from the trip! Thank you and Adios!
